Do you want this new year to be like every other year or do you want this year to be the year that changed it all?
2020 is the beginning of a new year, a new decade, and a new you. Well, maybe not a new you but a more empowered you. We all start the New Year by setting goals to change who we are in hopes of bettering ourselves. That sounds good and all, but what if instead of trying to CHANGE who we are we tried focusing on SHARPENING what already exists within us?
We live in a time where society has such a strong influence on people and the way that they are being shaped. Unfortunately, the majority of people are being molded into something or someone they’re not. This societal shaping is causing people to grow into what they “NEED” to be rather than who they are MEANT to be. The more that you live growing to be something you’re not, the more you grow into believing a false image of yourself. Living in this false image is leading people to feel more lost, confused, and lonely than ever before. Personally, I believe this is why we are seeing an all-time high in depression and suicide rates across the globe.
WorthWhile Brand is my way of battling these rates! With 2020 upon us, I want WorthWhile to be an influencing movement behind people that promotes positivity, individuality, and self-worth throughout the year. I want the brand to serve as a reminder for people to take an extra second in the mirror, a reminder to appreciate yourself, and a reminder to make time for you. This year pay attention to the things that make you who you are. Ask yourself questions. What're your passions? What’s your greatest strength? What’s your greatest weakness? What’s your zodiac sign? What’s your favorite time of the day? What do you like to do? What do you not like to do? What’s your weirdest habit? What’s your favorite thing to learn about? What are your wildest dreams? What motivates you? What scares you? What can you do to further yourself?
By asking and answering these questions you are becoming more in tune with your inner self & outer existence. Accept and love your answers for they makeup who you are. You have to learn to love yourself because sometimes in life you will be the only one who does. One of the best ways I’ve found to become more self-aware is through meditation. Meditation, in short, is literally just spending time with yourself. The more time you spend with yourself, the more familiar you become with yourself & your thoughts. The more comfortable you are with you and your thoughts, the easier it becomes to navigate throughout this wonderful life we have. I would love to offer any advice I can if you would like to learn more about meditating. Feel free to reach out.
Over the past week and a half that I’ve been working on this blog, I’ve been paying more attention to social media. I’ve noticed that there seems to be a common mindset among people as we end one year and progress into another. I feel like everybody is taking this new year personally and going into it with an extremely positive mindset instead of just setting a couple of goals and saying “Happy New Year”. I feel like people are going into 2020 with self-worth on their mind and it excites me. It makes me believe that this year & decade are going to be the greatest yet. This 2020 New Year is YOUR year! It’s time for you to look at yourself with a new vision... a 2020 vision! Believe in yourself! Be You & never forget YOU ARE WORTHWHILE!!
